Scarring our youth - Forgetting Sarah Marshall.Caught an early showing and the theater was almost empty, but it didn't stop a couple from dragging a kid along. An 8 year old has no business seeing Seth Rogen's dick.

From Serenity to Saw III, Hostel to Happy Feet, my first year of movies at Cinemark was a good one.

People say that modern, ultra violent horror films are doing irreparable harm to the youth of America. The problem with preteens wanting to, and getting in to see these movies is debatable, but parents dragging kids along to see "The Ruins"or "Hostel"just because they won't spring for a baby sitter should be considered a form of child abuse. Allowing children to drink, smoke, or watch porn is child endangerment, shouldn't essentially forcing them to watch people being brutally murdered count as well?
EDIT 4/11/08
I've decided to give this issue its own category, I'll be posting on this topic when ever I see extreme minors taken to R rated movies by their parents.
The posts will be labeled, "Scarring Our Youth".

The Ruins
Cabin Fever goes to Cancun.
First horror flick I've seen in while that really got "under my skin" if you know what I mean. Trapped on an ancient Mayan pyramid by a group of locals hell bent on keeping anyone who touches the vines growing on its surface, four twenty-something Americans and a German tourist are terrorized by killer kudzu, mockingbird flowers, and their own fears and insecurities.

Had lunch at South Bound. Good food, decent prices. Plus I found out where Pricella from Tejas Grill went.
